Stress is when something in your environment changes and your body must adjust to the change.
What Does It Feel Like?
Stress can feel like many things.
It can feel like:
- Upset stomach
- Headaches
- Feeling jumpy
- Butterflies in your stomach
- Tense muscles
- Feeling sad, mad, upset, overwhelmed, or other emotions
- Having a hard time concentrating
- And more


How to Deal With Stress
There are many ways to deal with stress. Some ways work in some situations. Other ways work in other situations. It is important to have more than one way which works for you!
Ways to deal with stress:
- Talk to a trusted adult
- Have fun with a loved one
- Watch a movie
- Colour, draw, or paint
- Get active
- Go outside
- Play with a pet
- Read a book
- Cry
- Yell into a pillow
- Write your feelings down
- Have a bath
- Play a game
- Take a break
- Take slow, deep breaths
